its almost time to make history

its almost time to make history

It has been very interesting (to say the very least) to see Mr. John McCain's devisive "i'll say/try anything now" tactics ever since the fat lady can be heard doing vocal warm exercises from the green room. Wow.. what happened to the noble war hero? What happened to honor? What da hell happened to John McCain. The man who says,"country first"??  It looks to me like the motivation behind every step of his campaign was "campaign first".
But we all should heed Barack's advice in this last week before the big election. Dont ease up for one second.Dont call it a victory yet ! Encourage everyone you know to make it to the polls Nov.4th..or better yet, vote early ! Most states allow early voting this week. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

continued prayers to Jennifer Hudson and family.

Mr. President

EB-

We did it! Obama is President! And it wasn't even like it was a close race either. I believe a couple more states are still tallying up the numbers, but as of now, Barack has 338 electoral votes and McCain only 163! And if you were able to follow the progress throughout the night, you would know that this race was over a long time ago and Barack had the 270 votes he needed long ago when McCain was struggling to break 100!
I live just outside of Philly, PA and they were partying in the streets all night long when it became official last night! PA was a key state in this race and Barack had it on lock hands down! It's a new day and I am so looking forward to Barack serving as the President of the United States. This is definately a historical day. His grandmother would be proud and so would Dr. Martin Luther King.

Now....Any volunteers want to meet me down at the White House to help Bush pack his s**t? LOL

As always, Much love to you EB , and enjoy your cruise. Stay away from them icebergs! LOL

Love,

Karen

Happy to Be a Part of Positive Change

Good morning Eric. I also agree with your take on the Presidential race. It has been very interesting to watch the back and forth of the debates. I feel that positive change is about to take place right before our very eyes; And we all can and will (by voting), play a part in it. I have heard a lot of people say that minority status doesn't play any part in the race. However, it does play a small part in it for me. My main priority in voting was based upon the issues and stances of the candidates on these issues. But, after so many years of minority racism and hard work given to the U.S. by many minorities, not just African Americans, I am proud to see a minority (whether it be of race or gender) running for President of the United States. Thanks Eric for feeling this time in our lives important enough to discuss. Take care...and pl-e-e-a-a-s-s-e come to Tampa Florida soon. My birthday is Nov. 14th (will be 43) and would love to hear from you. I must say....your new album is a direct link to where I am in life now. The saying "Been there, done that" certainly applies:) Keep on doing your thang.

It's almost time to make HISTORY

Hey Eric, DITTO to everything you said, Let's not get confortable yet in our thinking "We Got This". Still every vote is needed on NOV 4th. Let's stay focus on this history-making event !!! On another sad note, we all need to take some time and place Jennifer Hudson and family in our prayers. Thanks Eric in reminding us all what we must do during this election to make our voices be heard and that Obama is the "CHANGE" this country need.
Be Blessed,
Cookie

Now Is Not The Time To Get Comfortable

Eric,

I completely agree with your statement about not easing up and assuming that Obama clinched the election. While the polls are promising, I'm not taking stock in what they are saying. As close as we are in witnessing history, I still think about what happened four years ago, and it turns my stomach. I'm not going to celebrate until Barack is officially announced as the winner.

Tomorrow is the last day of early voting, and it is a success in North Carolina. According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, 1.6 million North Carolinians voted early, and about 100,000 newly registered voters have signed up. I voted three weeks ago, and most of my neighbors voted early as well.

As far as McCain is concerned, what's happening is we are really seeing that man's true colors. McCain was and is only concerend about his campaign and not the welfare of this country, bottom line. What happened to honor? its kind of hard to ask that because there is nothin honorable about that codger at all.
